ATLT 1948, vandalized |
Description: |
WATONGA OK July 28 1985 -- Austin Todd & Ladd GP9 1948 awaits work. Sadly the unit appears to have undergone damage as the cab windows show evidence of possible bullet holes. The locomotive was built (s/n 24059) in June 1958 for Northern Pacific as NP 369, became BN 1948, retired in February 1985 and then to ATLT 1948. (Roster information from http://www.trainweb.org/emdloco/24000.htm and http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/EMDORIG/GP9/INDEX.HTM) |

The somewhat incongrous name for a railroad that runs from Watonga to El Reno is derived from the grandsons of founder E.O. Wheeler. |
