FCI 2-8-0ng #67 |
Description: |
Interesting action shot of narrow gauge Ferrocarril Oceanico 2-8-0 #67 doing some street running in Mexico City. Built by Alco-Schenectady in July of 1899 (serial #5210, class G--23), it worked the rails until being retired. One interesting comment from Brent Dickerson (see comment below) is the loco appeared in the 1960 "The Magnificent Seven" movie. Thanks, Brent! In 1970, it was on display at the Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City - not sure if it is still there. With Butch Getz's help (see comment below), the loco is no longer on display there. Thanks, Butch! Specs - narrow gauge, 38" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 16x20" cylinders, engine weight of 98,460 lb, tractive effort of 20,042 lb. No exact date was given nor the photogrpaher's name. |
