PRR 5847, EP-20, 1959
Title:  PRR 5847, EP-20, 1959
Description:  FSF. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in September of 1959. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5847 and two more "EP" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5847 is an EP-20 built during August of 1947, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in June of 1964 after just 17 years of revenue service. They are about to pass under the 4th Street Footbridge with a passenger train, and will soon stop at the Altoona Station on their way to Pittsburgh and points West.
