TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken at the eastern end of the Rockville Bridge near Rockville, Pennsylvania. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5768 and another E-8 whose number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5768 was built in April of 1952. In this context, they've just crossed the Susquehanna River with an eastbound passenger train and will soon arrive at the Harrisburg Station. Photo taken from ROCKVILLE Tower. WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engine #5768 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #5768 is an EP-22 built by EMD in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are backing-up (with an REA Express Refrigerator Car) to couple onto a passenger train and pull it to Altoona, Pittsburgh, and points West. Partially visible in the distance are the PRR's HARRIS Tower and the southern colums of the Market Street Bridge. |
