Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken in Renovo, Pennsylvania, c. 1949. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6329, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built in Juniata as an I-1S during July of 1919, rebuilt as an I-1SA in April of 1948, and retired in March of 1950 after 31 years of faithful service. Partially visible in the background is the Renovo Coaling Tipple, still standing as of 2019! The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. |
