Description:  Although offered as an Atlas scale model diesel, I couldn't find much information on this Alco-Schenectady built HH660 switcher. I believe this particular one had a serial #69080 and was delivered 9/1939 to L&N. I have no idea of its final disposition either. A rare diesel to say the least! Thanks to Robert Beicher for the added information (below in the comments section) about this unit!

Description:  Delivered from Richmond, this class consisted of the reliable and well-liked USRA light Pacific design. Here it sits in the Louisville yard on this day. After nearly 43 years of service, the loco was retired in MArch of 1954 and would be presumed, scrapped. Specifics - 73" drivers, 200psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine weight of 277,00 lb, tractive effort of 40,753 lb. No photographer listed.

Description:  This mighty steam locomotive was the product of the Lima Locomotive Works in 1949. Although a class M-1, this class was affectionately known as the "Big Emmas". Although powerful and smooth running, they were scrapped a relatively short time later in 1956-57. This loco met the scrapper's torch in January of 1957. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:  Baldwin, November, 1948 2000hp According to Wikipedia, these Baldwin locos were produced exclusively for the Pennsylvania Railroad and were delivered in 1948 in the sharknose body style designed by Raymond Loewy. The PRR classified them as BP-20 (Baldwin Passenger, 2,000 horsepower or 1,500 kilowatts). They were originally used on top-flight express trains such as the Broadway Limited, but problems soon relegated them to lesser service. Description:  Nyman. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8587 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #8587 is an ES-15MS steam generator-equipped road switcher constructed in September of 1953. In this context, they're departing a station with a ten-car passenger train. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
