The loco was scrapped in August of 1951 after nearly 54 years of service. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:  This 4-6-0 ten wheeler led a very useful life while wearing 6 different numbers. Built by Baldwin & Co in November of 1899 as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul #246, it was changed a few years later - , renumbered in 11/1905 to CMStP #884, renumbered in 10/1912 to CMStP #4131, simplified & renumbered in 10/1915 to CMStP #2381, renumbered in 12/1920 to CMStP #2366, and finally renumbered in 7/1938 to CMstP&P #1156. After nearly 53 years of service, the loco was scrapped in August of 1952. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:  This loco and its sisters spent almost more time being renumbered than running! Built by Baldwin in September of 1900 as Chciago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound 4-6-0 ten wheeler #323, it didn't stay that way long - renumbered in 10/1906 to CMStP #1623, renumbered in 11/1912 to CMStP #4223, simplified & renumbered in 8/1916 to CMStP #2773, renumbered in 11/1920 to CMStP 2759 and finally renumbered in 6/1938 to CMStP&P #1122. After nearly 49 years of service to the Milwaukee Road, the loco was sold in September of 1949. Simplfied specs - 69" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 22 1/2x26" cylinders, engine wt of 169,400 lb, tractive effort of 29,190 lb and superheated. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:  Alco-Brooks built this 4-6-2 Pacific in March of 1910 as CMStP #1544 (serial #47484, class F-3). It was renumbered several times - nee-MILW 1544 > 3242 in 1910 > 6542 in 1912 > 6162 in 1924 > 192 in 1938. The loco was finally retired in November of 1954 after nearly 44 years of dedicated service. Rebuilt F3-s specs - 79" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x28" cylinders, engine wt of 247,300 lb and tractive force of 33,275 lb. The date is an approximate one. The photo was taken by rail fan Billings and is now part of my rr collection.

Description:  Baldwin built this 4-6-0 loco in August of 1901 originally as CM&StP Vauclain compound ten wheeler #378 (serial #19473, class B4) but starting in August of 1907, it was renumbered to #1728 > in September of 1912 to #4328 > in July of 1015, it was simplified and then renumbered #2878 > in NOvember of 1920 to 2870 > and finally in June of 1938, it was renumbered one last time to MILW #1053. After 51 years of dedicated service, the loco was scrapped in December of 1952 to make way for the diesels that were taking over. The photo was taken by a rail fan known as Anderson.

Description:  At this late date in its service, Chicago & North Western 2-8-2 Mikado #2547 is showing major signs of old age and some neglect. It would disappear from the roster sometiome after 10/1/1952. This solid looking Mikado was built by Alco-Brooks in October of 1922 as Chicago & North Western 2-8-2 #2547 (serial #63521, class J). In October of 1939, a stoker was appled to improve performance, not to mention saving a fireman's back! It was also reclassified as J-5 class. Photo credit is to Carl L. Description:  Interesting to see what was running on the rails while I was having my 3rd birthday! MILW 4-6-0 #1069 started out as CM&StP Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #428 (serial #22749, B4 class) built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in August of 1903. It was renumbered several times. Starting in March of 1907, it was renumbered to #1778 > in September of 1912 to #4378 > in May of 1918, it was simplified and renumbered #2928 > in July of 1918 to #2886 > and finally in June of 1938, it was renumbered one more time to MILW 1069. After 50 years of service, the loco was scrapped in March of 1953. This photo was taken by Edwin Wilson and is now in my collection.
