Train #554 (Palmer, Massachusetts to East New London, Connecticut). New England Central doesn't hold a candle to the act that the Central Vermont Railway was!

You got that right.Got my first taste of the cv when I was 7 or 8 years old took one of many cab rides on these junks lashed up in six packs.became an engineer to late for the railroad I wanted to work for.Worked with quite a few cv guys in my day and they all loved when it was the cv. THERE WAS NOTHING LIKE HEARING 6 PACKS OF 567'S CLIMBING BELCHERTOWN HILL OR MONSON ECHOING FOR FOR MILES WITH 100+ CAR CUTS .GOT THE CHANCE TO RUN ONE OF THE THE OLD GRAND TRUNK 9ERS BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE AND A HATE TO MY HEART CN CAN STUFF IT THERE GOOD AT TAKING FLAGS DOWN.
