CSS Interurban #23 - Chicago, South Shore & South Bend
This is the color version of the previous photo in the album of the Pullman interurban car built in August of 1927 as it sits just outside the Michigan City shops behind it. The photo was taken by a rail fan known only as "BH" on the back sometime in the late 1970's. Note the logo "The Little Engine That Could" on the side of the car.

Tom Beckett General Cool album. I remember these cars. The "Little Engine That Could" branding dates to around the mid to late 70's; I recall seeing it on the trains there on a visit to Chicago in 1978. I missed the Little Joes, but did ride down 10th St in Michigan City, an interesting feature that was finally eliminated this year. 12/26/2024 5:54:23 AM
