PRR 5426, K-4S, c. 1929         
Here is a photo via Rail Photo Service. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5426, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in August of 1956 after 29 years of faithful service. Note the electrified third rail installed at this location. The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded. Robert Hess General The location here is Manhattan Transfer in Harrison, NJ. No. 5426 is departing with a Westbound train. The Worthington plant is partially visible in the background. Note that the tender still has the stripes, with a rectangular box around the cab numerals. These were omitted as per a drawing issued in 1932, so the photo was probably taken closer to that year. 7/3/2022 12:12:35 PM
