AMTK 8 heads into the eastbound lead of the wye while another AMT train waits
No Amtrak's actually run on this stretch of track... It was part of a "turn" move due to construction north of R. Mt.

This is at the north end of the yard by the signals at "Charlie Baker"; this is a current eastbound track to eastern N.C.

What was going on? Amtrak does not service the eastern part of NC on this line. This spot is just south by a 1/2 mile or less of the station. I grew up just a few blocks from this track and never saw an Amtrak come down it, let alone 2!

This shot was taken when there was construction north of Rocky Mount and the train temporarily terminated there; I don't remember all of the details.
