The southeast and southwest walls of the SOO depot at Medford, WI, on 1 Aug. '21. The current depot was built in Nov. 1913, at a cost of $7,087.00. It was built after the previous depot was destroyed by fire on 10 Oct. 1912. That depot was built in 1885, but remodeled and expanded ca. Jul. 1912, by order of the Wis. Railroad Commission. That depot replaced the original depot, which had been built in Sep. 1873, but was destroyed by fire, along with most of the downtown, on 28 May 1885. The railroad used this depot until 1985. The depot and some of the surrounding property were sold to the city on 8 Mar. 1990. |
