WATC 17, C-1, #3 of 3, c. 1953
Here is the third of three successive original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken at the Ivy City Yard in Washington, D.C., c. 1953. Prominent here is the Washington Terminal Company's engine #17, a C-1 (0-8-0) switcher built in the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata Erecting & Machine Shop during January of 1927. Visible at the right is an unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 electric locomotive; beyond it is the soon-to-be-obsolete Coaling Station.
