| This cbaoose was built in June 1969 by Gantt Manufacturing as Southern Railway X401. It was donated in late 1990 and in 2000-2001 to the Thronateeska Heritage Center, Union Station History Museum in Albany, GA and was restored to look like a similar caboose owned by the Georgia Northern Railway in the late 1950'S-1960'S, No. X153. The original X153 still exists, privately owned in western North Carolina. An unknown photographer took the photo and the date is apporximate in 2003. |
