Southern Pacific (Texas & New Orleans) home-made SE-3 class 0-8-0’s 858 and 856 were on a westbound transfer run at the east end of the HUEY P. LONG BRIDGE. The 858 had probably just been added to help out on the bridge’s 1.25% grade. Espee’s AVONDALE YARD was at the west end of the bridge. (approximate date of photo) |
