Partial Caption: "Here is a rear view of a westbound freight consist on Horseshoe Curve in the 1940's. A Class N-5C (porthole) caboose (cabin in PRR terms) is on the rear with two powerful locomotives pushing the train. The lead locomotive is a World War II-era massive Class J-1 Texas type, and the last locomotive is probably a Class I-1." |
