Album of PRR Scenery, Plate 10, 1882         
Here is the tenth of 12 plates constituting the "Album of Pennsylvania R.R. Scenery." It was published and copyrighted in 1882 by Wittemann Brothers. 45 Murray Street. New York City, New York. Caption: "Mountain House, Cresson, Pa." This structure was moved here shortly after 1854. Before that, it was located in Duncansville, Pennsylvania ~ that is, near the western slips of the Juniata River portion of the Pennsylvania Canal and near the western terminus of the Pennsylvania Railroad before the Horseshoe Curve opened for traffic on 15 February 1854.
