Here is page five of a 21-page article by Jim Hilker, Jr., entitled "A History of the Hollidaysburg & Petersburg Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad." It was published originally in the Spring 2007 issue of "The Keystone" magazine, page 44. According to this Middle Division passenger service timetable dated 25 September 1921, "local" train #6250 covered the 7.6 miles from Altoona to Hollidaysburg in 23 minutes ~ but "express" train #6372 covered the same distance in just 15 minutes! |
