More history along the side of the hood on this switcher. The most obvious is the lettering for Springfield Terminal, evidence from the days when Guilford attempted to consolidate operations and equipment of their larger railroad companies under the name and operating rules of a former Vermont shortline. Not as easy to spot but still visible under the gray is lettering of the Boston & Maine consistent with the maroon and gold scheme of the 1950s. |
