PRR 6302, AF-27, 1965
7th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #6302, #6306, #6300, and #6304. All are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company during 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They are about to pass under the 7th Street Bridge on their way to East Altoona to get ready to make another helper/pusher run up to Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and back.
