I bet this was the Arco-Harrlee coal train that operated to GA Powers plant in Harrlee GA near Millidgeville GA. Back then it commonly ran with 4 SD40's up front and the 3 seen here in the middle. Before the trackage allowed in Macon this train would have to pull into the forwarding yard where the lead units would swap ends since there was no way something arriving from Atlanta could go directly to the Savannah side. Today this train could take the old GS&F passenger main via Edgewood and Rutland Jct. and make the loop....or take the scenic route as crews called it when they first started doing this. CSX also served the plant at Harrlee and they ended up with all this business in the 1990's and this train stopped operating. I'm not sure if they continue to receive coal or if the plant is still in operation.
