CN local pauses to throw the turnout to take the north leg of the wye at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 10 Apr. '16. They will then pull past the turnout for the east leg of the wye, then back into the yard. The remnants of the ca. '60s SOO depot's foundation is partially visible on the right, some rail sections supported by concrete blocks rest atop the foundation. It was constructed of masonry and replaced the wooden depot that used to stand at Sherry St., about 850 feet to the southeast. The silo in the background is Eggers Industries, 164 N. Lake St., Neenah, WI, a periodic rail customer. |
