The RS 3s that previously ran trains to Montauk were relatively short, and the FMs didnt MU, so there was not a problem trying to get a pair of units in the tail track there. But the C 420s were longer, and often ran in pairs on the weekend parlor car trains in the summer. It took just about every inch of track to get them to clear the switch at the station so they could get out and run around their train. A pair is just about making it in this shot on an August afternoon. |
