Locomotives are sometimes placed long hood foward, because of either time, no turntable or wye or for safety. Does this help Dwight?

These units were delivered in the early 80's to the Southern, which, like merger partner NW, ran them long hood forward, so this is actually going forward, the short hood first position, running "backward." Bet that bridge was once wood pile. Home page 08-21-2024
