Sperry Rail Service Shops  Contributor's Pick!
We went by the Sperry Shops after supper at Cracker Barrel. This is an Induction-Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Detector Car. They were rebuilt from 1920-1940s vintage gas electric cars called "doodlebugs". This is ex-CNW 300882 and is in the new paint scheme.

Tim Fennell General The carbody dates back to 1928, which was contracted by EMC to Pullman (EMC s/n 318). Originally was C&NW #9919 and later converted to Maintenance-of-way service as C&NW X300883. Amazing that this thing is still around. 11/1/2014 6:25:46 PM
