| Illinois Central SD40-2 6763 was leaving the railroad’s MAYS YARD outside of New Orleans on New Orleans-Chicago train NOCH. The locomotive was previously Burlington Northern 6763 and would be repainted as IC 6153. This was one of 61 former BN SD40-2’s built in 1976 and acquired by the IC in 1991 and 1992, after their original leases expired. The 6153 was upgraded by VMV in 1999 and renumbered 6260. |
