Here is a photo excerpted from a three-page article entitled "New Man On The Job." It was published in the November-December 1963 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 1. Note that Messrs. Symes and Saunders are standing in front of the number plate from the very last active Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotive, #5244 ~ a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during February of 1916 and retired on 15 July 1959 after 43 years of faithful service. |
