Shown here (L to R) is PRR engine #4230 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #4230 is an EP-20 constructed as number "5870" in April of 1949, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and renumbered "4230" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. In this context, they're pulling a passenger train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. William E. Burket Collection. |
