PRR 4245, EP-20, c. 1967
Boulton. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Union Station in Chicago, Illinois, c. 1967. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4245 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #4245 was constructed as number "5845" in August of 1947 and renumbered "4245" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. In this context, this A-B-A set is departing the Station with a six-car passenger train.
