Considering the loss of the North Station side pier the Sommersville temporary terminal worked really well. The day of the fire there was a sharp tower op on duty who raised the draws before the fire spread to them. Some workers had to be rescued when the draw spans lifted when too much rail & ties were removed making the counterweight out of balance.
