| Burlington Northern Railroad SD9 6150 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in November 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in July 1955 as CB&Q SD9 348 (c/n 20558) on EMD Order 5399, it became BN 6150 and later BNSF 6150. Note the steel caps on the short hood fabricated by the CB&Q's shops to protect the steam generator's intake and exhaust from the elements when not in use. |
