Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer of three Pennsylvania Railroad passenger locomotives that was taken in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in July of 1949. On the right is PRR engine #5544, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during 1946 and retired in January of 1956. On the left are PRR engines #5880 and another E-7 whose number is not recorded. Both are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5880 was built in April of 1949 and renumbered "4204" in 1966. Here is the 21st of 33 color prints of calendar art works that were commissioned by the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1925 through 1958. Shown here is Frank Reilly's painting entitled "1846-1946." It was published originally in 1946. Depicted at the top (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5900, #5500, #6195, and #4904. #5900 is an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in September of 1945 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. #5500 is a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built in Juniata during November of 1945 and retired in December of 1953. #6195 is a Q-2 (4-4-6-4) built in Juniata in June of 1945 and retired in January of 1956. #4904 is a GG-1 built in Juniata in May of 1940. Depicted at the bottom (L to R) are three vintage steam locomotives: 1831, 1864, and 1902. The one representing 1831 is the Camden & Amboy's "John Bull."

Station. Here is an original telephoto view that I took near the Pennsylvania Railroad's Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on the afternoon of 11 December 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #5900 and two other units whose numbers are not legible. All were built by EMD. #5900 is an EP-20 built in 1945 and rated at 2,000; it was the first EMD passenger Diesel delivered to the PRR. They are pulling a westbound mail/express train and are about to pass under the 12th Street Bridge. The gray, two-storey building on the left is the Railway Express Office. Also visible are PRR ES-10 switcher #9174 and the 7th Street Bridge in the distance.
